How many SIMs are active on your ID? Find out in just 30 seconds, complain this way for an unnoticed number



    The Department of Telecom has announced a new notification for SIM card users

    If more than 9 SIMs are registered in your name, KYC is required


Even if you use one or two SIM cards, do you know how many SIMs are registered with your ID? If you do not know the answer to this question, you can get in trouble. According to the new rule of telecom department, only 9 SIMs can be activated on one ID. The limit is 6 SIMs for the north-eastern states, including Jammu and Kashmir and Assam. If more than 9 SIMs are registered in your name then you need to do KYC. If the SIM is not verified, it will be deactivated.


The Department of Telecom has issued a notification on December 7. Accordingly, customers will have 60 days to verify the SIM. International roaming users, sick and disabled customers will get an additional 30 days. There is an active SIM registered in your name which you may incur losses if you are not using it. You could get into trouble if this SIM card is used for illegal activity.


Find out the number of SIMs registered this way

The Department of Telecom has developed a portal called TAFCOP (Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection). A database of active mobile numbers in the country has been uploaded on the portal tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in. Spam and fraudulent calls can be controlled through the portal. You can know how many SIM cards are active in your name in just 30 seconds ...


Step by step process

    First open the portal tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in.

    Log in with the mobile number and OTP in the box here.

    You will see a list of all the active SIM card mobile numbers from your ID.

    If there is a number in this list that you are not aware of, you can report it.

    For that select the number and select 'This is not my number'.

    Submit the name written in the ID given in the box above.

    Now click on the Report box below.

    You will also get a ticket ID reference number after making a complaint.
