Camera Go / GCam Go APK Port Download with Night Mode, HDR+ and 10x Zoom

Camera Go / GCam Go APK Port Download with Night Mode, HDR+ and 10x Zoom

Google launched a trimmed-down version of the Pixel’s Google Camera app, called Google Camera Go, earlier this year in the March. At first, the app was quite barebones, and it didn’t contain most of the cool features that you’d find in the full-blown Google Camera app.

However, Google has been working on bringing help for some of those novel features over the last few months. For instance, back in April this year, we first learned that the company was working on adding HDR help to Google Camera Go. Then in October, the app got Night Mode support, and Google confirmed that it would be adding HDR support in a future update. As promised, the company is now eventually rolling out HDR support with the latest Google Camera Go update.

According to  a recent tweet from the official Android Twitter handle, HDR support is now rolling out with the latest Google Camera Go update. This will permit budget devices to capture photos “with crisper details and richer color at any time of day.”Google launched a trimmed-down version of the Pixel’s Google Camera app, called Google Camera Go, earlier this year in March. It’s worth mentioning that while you can download the latest Camera Go APK on any Android device running Android 8.0 Oreo or above, you won’t obtain access to the Night Mode and HDR features. This is because of  the fact that these features are only whitelisted for a handful of devices. If you’re interested in learning more about Google Camera Go and its capabilities, do test out our hands-on review of the app by following this link.

The Camera Go APK was released this year with features like HDR, portrait mode etc. This time it has received the Night Mode for a low budget camera. The Camera Go APK is a light weight variant of the very famously available Google Camera app.

Unlike this Camera GO app, the Google Camera app is a very strong camera application with loads of features only obtainable for Google phones, in general. But, Thanks to the developers, who have ported the Google Camera APK and created it to work on 200+ non-Google phones. The advanced features of original Google Camera’s algorithms need a lot of computing resources like  huge RAM, processing and storage that is not a perfect fit for Android Go edition or simply any lower spec Android phone. Introducing the Camera Go APK that gives decent features like  Night Mode, Portrait Mode, of the original app as of now.

What are the Features obtainable on Camera Go?

Update 2: (6th October 2020)

The Camera Go now features Night Mode, which is quite same to Google Camera’s Night Sight mode. The Night mode makes well exposed images in low light condition, without flash! You can obtain the APK file in the downloads section.

Watch the below video presentation that explains how you can get great photos in low light condition on the Camera Go app utilizing Night Mode!Update 1: (16th April 2020)

The stock Camera Go is ported by many developers to take more features. The ported app is named as Google Camera Go or GCam Go, which is obtainable with HDR+, 10x Zoom and now works on Android 8 and later versions. On the contrary the stock Camera Go app just had the HDR and portrait mode that too it was made to run only on Android 10.

HDR+ on Camera Go

As I have early said that the GCam is a far better port in comparison to Google Camera Go, which has a lot of features like , Night Sight, Astrophotography, Portrait mode, photo sphere, super res zoom, and many more.

On the contrary the Camera Go APK has just the Night Mode (only on GCam Go v1.8 and later), Portrait mode, Face Enhance, and the Google Translate as of now. Yes, the Translate feature that is otherwise a part of the Google Lens, is even now integrated to the Camera Go app.

Moreover, the Camera Go APK has some features those are unique and is a perfect fit for the Android Go devices.Number of images you can take.

In the photo Mode, it describes how many photos you can take with respect to the recent storage space left on the phone.

Number of a minutes you can record video.

In the Video Mode, it describes for how long you can record video with respect to the recent  storage space left on the phone.

Integrated Google Translate.

Generally  the Google Translate is available in the Google Lens. Integrating the Translate in the Camera Go app is a sign that the actual Lens app will not be created for Go devices.

Most vitally , works flawless on Android phones with low end processor.

Should you Install Camera Go APK?

mainly the Huawei Kirin chipset does not get any porting help for GCam. This Camera Go APK is an ideal fit for those mobiles!

Just such as the Huawei and Honor, some older Mediatek chipset based phones did not get help for GCam by the developers. If you have such a mobile running on Android 8 or later (only Parrot043 and Greatness’ APK port may work), then this Camera GO APK is correct for you!

But, if the GCam APK is obtainable for your phone then there is no question of doubt in anyway. You can always find your device in the following list of obtainable GCam APK.

But, one thing to a remember.

If your mobile has a slow processor like  anything in the Snapdragon 400 variant, or some older Mediatek chipsets, then ideally your mobile will not see any latest Google Camera version.

In this case, either you can try some older GCam versions obtainable which is still better than Camera Go.

Where to Download Camera Go?

Below is a list of direct link to download the Camera Go APK port for low budget Android mobiles. Once other versions of the app are obtainable, will be added below.

How to Install Camera Go on Android?

Download the Camera Go APK file from the over download link(s).

To install apps from a 3rd -party app other than Play Store you require  to enable app installation from Unknown Sources on your Android device.

For Android 10 version, enable Install Unknown Apps from the app from which you are going to install the Camera Go APK.

For example: if you have downloaded the Camera Go file on Google chrome or firefox browser on your mobile. Or you have downloaded and copied the apk file to the file browser and you wish to install it from there.

Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Open the app (Chrome, Firefox or file manager app etc) > Install unknown apps and enable Allow from this source

Watch  the below screenshots that enables to install unknown apps on Pie for Chrome app (you require to enable on the app from where you wish to install the apk):

Enable unknown sources to install app

Once enabled, Tap on the downloaded app to install.

Once installed you can open the app and fun the Camera Go APK on your Android phone.

In my view , several GCam APK ports are already working on many low end devices. It is true that most of the new features need very high processing, but even the features obtainable on older GCam ports are better than the stripped down variant of this Camera Go application which is mainly built by keeping the Android Go devices in mind.
